Boulder County Real Estate Information

The sixth most populated of the state's 64 counties, Boulder County, Colorado, is located in the north-central region of the state. The county's seat is the city of Boulder, both of which were named after Boulder Creek, which derived its name originally because of the large number of boulders in the mountainous region. Boulder County was one of the 17 original counties of the Territory of Colorado, created in 1861. The county has a population of around 290,000, as of 2006 estimates.
